Manila Vice Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Friday filed his certificate of candidacy for senator at the Commission on Elections headquarters in Intramuros, Manila.

Moreno said he will run under Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada’s Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino, but added that he will support the tandem of Senators Grace Poe and Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

Before filing his COC, Moreno was joined in Tondo by Poe and Escudero, who endorsed the vice mayor’s senatorial run.

“Ako po ay opisyal nang lumalahok bilang kandidatong senador ng ating bansa (I am officially joining the senate race in the country),” Moreno said, calling himself a “true son of Manila” and a “certified garbage boy.”

Moreno asked the voting public to reserve a slot for him in their ballots.

“Ako po ay nagsusumamo sa inyo, kung hindi pa man po kayo nakakabuo ng 12, pareserve na po ng isa (I am imploring you, if you have not come up with the 12 names you will vote for, please reserve a slot for me),” he said in jest, referring to the so-called magic 12 in the Senate. IDL
