MANILA, Philippines — The Muntinlupa City government will not require authorized persons outside of residences (APORs) of a quarantine pass during the two-week enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila to curb the spread of COVID-19, especially its Delta variant.

Muntinlupa City Chief-of-Police Col. Melencio Maddatu Buslig said in a statement Thursday that APORs must only present a valid identification card.

The chief echoed the national government’s mandate that only APORs will be permitted to go out during the reimposed hard lockdown in the nation’s capital region.

Random checkpoints along the National Road would also be positioned, Buslig added.

At midnight of August 6, barricades and cones will be installed in local border quarantine control points at San Pedro-Tunasan Boundary, Susana Heights Exit, Sucat-Taguig Boundary, and Biazon Road-Alabang Boundary.

In the meantime, the local government passed an ordinance that includes individuals with a confirmed vaccination schedule under APORs during the ECQ period August 6-20.

Moreover, the liquor ban would take effect anew during the heightened quarantine classification to respond to rising COVID-19 cases.
