MANILA, Philippines — The PDP-Laban group led by newly elected party president Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi submitted its new set of officers to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

In a letter to the poll body dated August 4 and signed by party chairman President Rodrigo Duterte and Cusi, PDP-Laban formally submitted its Sworn Information Update Statement (SIUS) to the Comelec,

Political parties were given until August 15 to submit their SIUS ahead of the 2022 elections.

In the same letter, the Cusi-led PDP-Laban faction listed the names and positions of the party’s newly elected national officers:

Asked about the SIUS submitted by Cusi’s faction, Pimentel said “politics should take a back seat.”

“We [should] focus on [the] COVID pandemic as lockdown has been declared in NCR (National Capital Region) and surges felt in other places,” he said.

“Concentrate first on solving the pandemic in our territory,” the senator added.
