“He is free to say what he wishes.”

This is how Senator Francis Pangilinan reacted on Wednesday when lawyer Larry Gadon named him as one of those “bobo” or stupid people in the Senate.

“Nasa kanya na ‘yun. Sana hindi dinadaan sa pang-iinsulto. I will leave it at that,” Pangilinan said.

In a televised radio show aired Tuesday night, senatorial aspirant Gadon named Senators Pangilinan, Antonio Trillanes, and Risa Hontiveros as among those who are “bobo” or stupid in the Senate.

“Para sa ‘kin bobo si Senator Trillanes. Yan, bobo yan. Si Risa Hontiveros, bobo yan. Si Mr. Sharon Pangilinan, si Mr. Sharon Cuneta, bobo yan. Maraming bobo dyan,” Gadon said, who is running under Kilusang Bagong Lipunan.

Gadon is known as the controversial lawyer behind the impeachment complaint against now ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

He also rose to fame on social media after several short clips showed him saying “Hindi sila bobo [They are not stupid]” shoutout to students and groups of people.

When he filed his certificate of candidacy for senator last Oct. 12, Gadon said it was the “stupid” senators who pushed him to run.

“Ang dami kasing bobo sa Senado eh, dapat palitan na ‘yan. Unang-una si Trillanes, si Pangilinan, si Hontiveros, you can quote me on that,” he said. /jpv
