The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked nearly 1,000 driver’s licenses of erring motorists for various offenses in 2024, most of which were violations related to driving while under the influence of liquor.

In a statement on Saturday, LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II, said those revoked also include driver’s licenses of errant motor vehicle drivers in viral videos that were either monitored by the agency’s social media team or reported by netizens to the LTO.

“All these [revocations] underwent due process. And this is also part of our aggressive campaign to impose discipline and for responsible driving,” Mendoza said.

“We hope that this year, there will be no minimal or even zero administrative cases with driver’s license revocation as a penalty,” Mendoza said.

“But let this also serves as a warning that your LTO will not hesitate to suspend and revoke as many driver’s licenses if it would lead to the safety of all road users,” he added.
