Classes suspended in Agaton-hit provinces – DepEd
MANILA, Philippines – At least two provinces suspended all class levels on Monday due to Tropical Depression Agaton, the Department of Education (DepEd) said in its Twitter account.
No classes in all levels were declared in Compostela Valley and Agusan Del Norte, DepEd tweeted Sunday.
Weather forecaster Pagasa noted heavy to intense rains over portions of Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte, due to Agaton.
Meanwhile, moderate to occasionally heavy rains were expected over Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Camiguin, Davao del Sur and North Cotabato, Pagasa added.
Parts of Visayas were still recovering from the devastation brought by super typhoon “Yolanda” that left more than six thousand dead in late 2013.
Meanwhile, all class levels were suspended on Monday in Pulilan, Bulacan for its 218th Foundation celebration, DepEd said.
