3 DFA execs get CA confirmation
MANILA, Philippines — Three officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) secured the confirmation of the Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday.
The CA plenary confirmed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan Mylene Garcia-Albano, Chief of Mission Class II Voltaire dela Cruz Mauricio, and Career Minister Val Simon Taganas Roque after the body’s committee on foreign affairs recommended their nominations.
Senator Jinggoy Estrada, chairperson of the CA committee on foreign affairs, told the plenary that the officials are fit and qualified for the positions.
Mauricio has been with the DFA since 2002 and started as a special assistant in the agency’s office of the undersecretary for administration.
He then became the acting project manager of the machine-readable passport and visa project, and director of the multilateral affairs division of the office of strategic policy, planning, and coordination.
