5 presidential bets to hold joint Easter Sunday press conference

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidates Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Sen. Ping Lacson, former presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella and former Defense secretary Norberto Gonzales will hold a joint press conference on Easter Sunday.

The development was announced by Lacson’s media bureau on Saturday.

The press conference will be held at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Peninsula Manila Hotel in Makati City at 11:00 a.m.

“No other details have been disclosed by the communications teams of the respective candidates,” the advisory from Lacson’s camp said.

Vice presidential candidate Senate President Tito Sotto III said he was not aware of the press conference’s purpose when asked about it.

“I’m not aware of the purpose,” Sotto told reporters on Saturday.

“I was just invited by Sen. Ping. He said five presidential candidates are meeting and are inviting their running mates,” he explained. “That’s all I know.”
