MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidate Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Saturday again rejected talks of “unity” among opposition candidates for better chances of thwarting the late dictator’s son’s bid for the presidency.

In a tweet, Lacson branded as “selfish scheme” talks of unifying just to defeat a certain rival candidate.

“The call for ‘unity’ to defeat one particular candidate is a selfish scheme to unite under the candidate issuing that call. Decency deserves some respect even from arrogance,” he said.

Former Buhay party list Rep. Lito Atienza, Manny Pacquiao’s running mate, earlier called on Lacson to drop out of the race.
