Magnitude-5.8 quake jolts Mindanao
DAVAO CITY – A strong but deep earthquake shook parts of Mindanao on Tuesday evening, state seismologists said.
The magnitude-5.8 temblor struck around 6 p.m., at a depth of 103 kilometers, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the tectonic quake’s epicenter was traced some 10 kilometers east of Malungon town, Sarangani province.
The quake was felt at intensity four in the cities of Davao and Mati, Phivolcs said adding that no damage or aftershocks were to be expected.
