Manila Hotel statement on MacArthur Suite booking

/ 12:50 AM March 16, 2017

The Manila Hotel on Wednesday said it had no record of a retired US admiral and a Malaysian businessman booking its MacArthur Suite in 2007.

“The Manila Hotel has double-checked its reservation records and to our knowledge, there is no such booking referring to the stay at the MacArthur Suite of Rear Adm. Loveless, Leonard Francis or anyone from the USS [sic] 7th Fleet during the period in question,” Therese Necio-Ortega, vice president for marketing of The Manila Hotel, said in a statement.

Rear Adm. Bruce Loveless and eight other high-ranking officers have been charged with corruption and other offenses in a sprawling bribery probe, US prosecutors said on Tuesday.
