WALANG PASOK: Class suspensions for Thursday, Aug. 20

MANILA, Philippines – Classes are suspended in some areas on Thursday amid the effects of the southwest monsoon.

Here is the running list of class suspensions:
Laguna
- Biñan – all levels, public and private, shift to alternative learning modes
Pampanga
- Macabebe – all levels, public and private, shift to alternative mode of learning
- San Simon — all levels, public and private, shift to alternative mode of learning
- Sto. Tomas – all levels, public and private, shift to alternative mode of learning
- Mexico – all levels, public and private
- Bacolor – all levels, public and private, shift to alternative mode of learning
- Candaba – all levels, public and private, shift to alternative mode of learning
Pangasinan
- Aguilar – all levels, public and private
- Basista – all levels, public and private, shift to alternative mode of learning
- Bugallon – all levels, public and private
- Infanta – all levels, public and private, shift to alternative mode of learning
The University of Sto. Tomas – Manila also announced that classes on Thursday will be held through the “Enriched Virtual Mode of Instruction.”
Likewise, the Far Eastern University Roosevelt-Rodriguez campus in Rizal will also implement online learning modes on Thursday.
Meanwhile, under Memorandum Circular No. 131 issued by Malacañang on Wednesday, local government units in the following provinces were directed to suspend in-person classes and shift to alternative modes, due to inclement weather:
- Metro Manila
- Abra
- Benguet
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- La Union
- Pangasinan
- Bataan
- Bulacan
- Nueva Ecija
- Pampanga
- Tarlac
- Zambales
- Batangas
- Cavite
- Laguna
- Rizal
- Occidental Mindoro
