Drug suspect slain in gunfight with Laguna cops
LOS BAÑOS, Laguna—The government campaign against illegal drugs has again claimed another drug suspect in Laguna province on Thursday.
Insp. Roselle Orate, spokesperson of the Laguna provincial police, said Jonathan Valdecantos, alias Jackie, was killed after he engaged policemen in a shootout following a buy bust operation in Barangay 6 Ilaya del Norte in Paete town at 6 a.m.
Orate said police recovered a .38 caliber gun and a packet of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from Valdecantos. JE/rga
