MANILA, Philippines — A diffused tail-end of a cold front and the northeast monsoon will bring rains in parts of the country on Thursday, Christmas day.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that a diffused tail-end of a cold front is affecting Eastern Visayas while the northeast monsoon is affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

“The regions of Bicol, Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga, Davao and Northern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms,” Pagasa said.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Ilocos region and Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with light rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, a low pressure area is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday or Saturday. It was last observed 1,540 kilometers east of Mindanao.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the whole archipelago with moderate to rough seas, Pagasa said.
