MANILA, Philippines–Expect a somewhat wet Christmas, according to the weather bureau, with cloudy skies and light to moderate rains expected throughout the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said a low pressure area was expected to enter the country on Dec. 25, Christmas Day.

In its weekly weather outlook, Pagasa said the rain showers and thunderstorms last week would continue due to the prevailing northeast monsoon, or amihan, which brings cooler morning temperatures to the northern part of the country.
