New LPA seen east of Southern Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines–The state weather bureau is tracking a low pressure area east of the Philippines.
Alexis Cada of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the cloud cluster being observed over the Pacific Ocean has turned into an LPA.
It was last observed 1,870 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao as of 10 a.m.
The LPA was formed in the same track of Ruby, Cada noted.
He said Pagasa was still observing the LPA, as there is a possibility that it could dissipate.
Panahon TV, however, said the LPA could enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Thursday evening or Friday morning.
The state weather bureau earlier said two cyclones were expected before the year ends.
Tropical Storm “Ruby” (international name: Hagupit) will exit the PAR by Wednesday evening.
