De Lima, NBI to meet on filing of malversation raps over pork scam
MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Leila de Lima will decide on Tuesday (June 17) the date that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will file the third and last batch of pork barrel scam cases involving Janet Lim Napoles.
De Lima said she has scheduled a meeting with NBI officials for Tuesday to discuss the date of the filing of complaints for malversation of public funds against certain lawmakers and officials before the Office of the Ombudsman.
This as De Lima refused to comment on the Philippine Daily Inquirer report that the NBI has been set to file the malversation case against 11 persons, including Sen. Gringo Honasan; Joel Villanueva, director of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA); and eight other former and current members of the House of Representatives.
“I can neither confirm or deny that,” she told reporters, reminding her policy of not identifying those to be charged until they file the cases.
