4 suspects yield shabu worth over P1M in Rizal, Cavite busts
LUCENA CITY — Law enforcers arrested four drug suspects on Monday and Tuesday and seized more than P1 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations in Rizal and Cavite provinces.
Anti-illegal drugs operatives in Taytay, Rizal, were about to arrest one alias “Emmanuel” during a drug sting around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, in Barangay Dolores when the suspect escaped aboard his car, the Region 4A police said in a report.
The cops chased the suspect and one of them shot the wheel of the vehicle but hit a bystander instead.
The suspect was eventually cornered at the open parking area of the Rizal Provincial Capitol in Barangay San Roque.
The bystander, who was not identified in the report, suffered minor wounds and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities seized from the suspect, who is a high-value target in the government’s drug war, three sachets of shabu weighing 125 grams, worth about P862,500 in the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) valuation.
The police also confiscated the car believed to have been used by the suspect in his illegal drug business.
In Antipolo City, Rizal, police busted at 12:13 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, alleged drug pushers identified only as “Bimboy” and “Enrique” in Barangay Mayamot.
The suspects, both classified as street-level pushers, were caught possessing two sachets of shabu with a DDB value of P27,600.
The police also confiscated the Toyota Tamaraw FX being used by the suspects.
In Bacoor City, Cavite, anti-narcotics agents nabbed at 12:17 a.m. Tuesday alias “Rod Cornel” after he reportedly sold P500 worth of meth to a poseur buyer in Barangay Tabing Dagat.
The suspect, an identified drug pusher in the locality, yielded three sachets of shabu with a DDB value of P172,500.
The operatives also seized a mobile phone, which will be subjected to digital forensic examinations if they have records of drug transactions.
The four suspects were detained and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
