Cops nab 10, seize P579K worth of ‘shabu’ and marijuana in Cavite, Rizal
LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives have arrested 10 alleged big-time drug pushers and confiscated more than P579,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and marijuana in Cavite and Rizal provinces.
In a report Wednesday, the Police Regional Office 4A said the Cavite Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and local police in Dasmariñas City nabbed Jayson Trilles, Rayven Sarmiento, Mark Glenn Rabino and Noel Niegad during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Paliparan 3 at 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The suspects yielded 2.2 kilos of dried marijuana leaves with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P264,000 and two mobile phones containing lists of their supposed drug transactions.
The report tagged Trilles and Sarmiento as “HVI” or high-value individuals in the local drug trade while Rabino and Niegad were listed as identified drug pushers on the police watchlist.
Later, the Cavite DEU busted Rowena Yaba, Mercedes Reyes, Casimero Sumallo, Lionel Fernan Lachica, and Rogelio Laveres in another sting operation in Barangay St. Peter 1 at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
Article continues after this advertisementThe suspects, all included on the police drug watch list, were found in possession of seven plastic sachets of shabu worth P68,000 as per DDB valuation.
Article continues after this advertisementIn Rizal province, police officers in San Mateo town arrested Bryan Delegente in Barangay Banaba around 11:46 p.m. also on Tuesday.
Authorities seized from the suspect, also an HVI, 12 plastic sachets of shabu supposedly ready for distribution to drug user clients. The estimated value of the confiscated shabu is P247,860.
Police likewise confiscated a mobile phone, which will be subjected to digital forensic examination to find out if it has records of drug transactions.
All arrested suspects were detained and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
