Money lender wounded in Antipolo City gun attack

LUCENA CITY — An unidentified gunman shot and wounded a money lender while the victim was collecting payment on Sunday, April16, in Antipolo City, Rizal province, police said.

Investigators said Marcy Bobet Rivera was attacked and shot twice with a handgun, the Region 4A police reported Monday.

Rivera was collecting payments from his lending business customers in Barangay Cupang around 2 p.m. when he was shot.

The gunman fled aboard a motorcycle after the shooting, leaving his target with gunshot wounds on his thigh and nape.

The victim was rushed to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Hospital in Marikina City.

An investigation was under way to establish the motive behind the incident.
