Thunderstorm likely to prevail over NCR, nearby provinces
MANILA, Philippines — Thunderstorms will likely prevail over Metro Manila and nearby provinces in the next 12 hours, the state weather bureau warned on Sunday morning.
In its 10 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said “thunderstorm is more likely to develop over Greater Metro Manila Area (Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite) within 12 hours.”
Currently, Pagasa is monitoring a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and it has a chance to enter the country’s boundary within the day.
The weather agency also said the tropical depression’s trough is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to the Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience the effects of the shear line.
No other weather disturbance or low-pressure area was detected inside and outside the PAR.
