Cops nab 3 ‘high-value’ drug suspects in Marikina City; seize P360,000 ‘shabu’
MANILA, Philippines — Police have arrested three “high-value” drug suspects and confiscated more than P360,000 worth of crystal meth, locally known as “shabu,” in a buy-bust operation in Marikina City.
The Eastern Police District (EPD) said in a report Thursday that officers from the Marikina City Police Station collared Lineth Tardecilla, 23, of Barangay Nangka; John Edward Edejer, 24, of San Mateo, Rizal; and Jovy Tarrayo, 23, also of San Mateo, Rizal in a drug sting along Makabayan St., Alley 1, Barangay Nangka on April 4.
The EPD said the buy-bust operation followed a series of surveillance on the suspects.
Seven sachets containing shabu, weighing approximately 53 grams, were found in possession of the suspects, police also said. The estimated value of the seized illegal substance was P360,400. It was turned over to the EPD Forensic Unit for further examination.
The arrested suspects, on the other hand, were detained at Marikina City Police Station as cases for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied against them.
