DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur, Philippines — Authorities in Davao del Sur province are still seeking information to help them identify a woman who was found dead on Friday afternoon in Barangay Rizal of Bansalan town.

Major Jeffmar Tercero, Bansalan police chief, said a student who passed by the riverbank noticed a stinky smell along the way . Looking around, the student discovered a decaying body on a pile of debris.

Tercero added that the woman could have possibly drowned from the flash flood a day earlier.

The local police described the still unidentified woman as medium-built, about four feet tall, and wearing a green T-shirt and black pants.

The victim was brought to Brillantes Funeral Home in Bansalan.

The Bansalan Municipal Police Station also put out a public notice to families who might have missing members to coordinate with them.
