Signal No. 4 lifted as Karding moves over to West Philippine Sea

MANILA, Philippines —  Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 was lifted in certain areas in the country on Monday as Typhoon Karding moved westward toward the West Philippine Sea.

“Karding is forecast to continue tracking generally westward over the West Philippine Sea towards Vietnam,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in an advisory.

Karding is now in the vicinity of Santa Cruz, Zambales, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and a gustiness of up to 170 kph.

The typhoon is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday night, according to Pagasa.

Metro Manila is only under Signal No. 1.
