Duterte casts vote for May 9 polls in hometown Davao City
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte cast his vote for this year’s national and local elections in his hometown Davao City on Monday.
The President voted at the Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School, Precinct 1245-A, at around 4:45 p.m.
Duterte has maintained his position not to endorse any presidential candidate as his successor.
He only expressed support for his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who is running for vice president, and some Senate hopefuls.
Duterte did not endorse his daughter’s running mate, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who is running for president.
Article continues after this advertisementThe President, however, as president of the PDP-Laban party is supporting the tandem of Marcos and Duterte-Carpio.
Duterte, the 16th president of the Philippines is set to leave Malacañang at the end of June.
