High-profile drug suspect with P3.4-M ‘shabu’ falls in Laguna

MANILA, Philippines — A high-profile drug suspect carrying P3.4-million worth of crystal meth, locally known as shabu, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Laguna on Thursday.

According to the Philippine National Police (PNP), authorities launched a joint operation that led to the apprehension of 26-year-old Ranz Lemuel Magdaraog.

Magdaraog is now facing charges of violations of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PNP chief General Dionardo Carlos assured the public that police officers are on high alert despite the Lenten break.

“Despite the [Holy Week] break, the PNP remains on high alert and will continue to conduct police operations to ensure the safety of the general public. I laud our police officers who made this operation successful,” Dionardo said in a statement.
