MANILA, Philippines — While he is “not bothered” by the two-percent score he earned in the latest Pulse Asia presidential survey, Senator Panfilo Lacson said he thought his performance in interviews and forums should have gained support for his candidacy.

“After the presidential interviews and forums, I thought I should gain instead of [losing] support,” Lacson said in a statement on Monday.

Nevertheless, the senator vowed to continue with “this fight all the way to Election Day.”

“Surveys are not elections. Last time I heard, election is on May 9. I’m not bothered at all simply because the numbers I feel on the ground are different from what the surveys indicate,” he added.

In a Pulse Asia presidential survey held in February and released earlier Monday, Lacson once again fell behind four of his fellow contenders, garnering 2 percent in voter preference – a decrease by two points.

Pulse Asia said its February 18-23 survey was conducted face-to-face and involved 2,400 registered voters, who were asked which candidate they would vote for as president if the May elections were held on the day they were polled.
