MANILA, Philippines — Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III on Saturday said he is “glad” that Filipinos are satisfied with his public service.

“Sincerity and hard work. Sa awa ng Diyos nakakapasok ako at nagagampanan ko ang aking trabaho with or without the pandemic,” Sotto, who is running for vice president in the May 9 elections, said.

(Sincerity and hard work. With the grace of God, I can work and fulfill my duty with or without the pandemic.)

“I am glad that our countrymen are satisfied with the way I serve our people. Hindi ko naging ugali na ipagmalaki ang nagagawa ko sa maliit man o sa malaking bagay (It has not been my practice to boast of my accomplishments, whether small or big),” he added.

Sotto’s statement was in response to the recent survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS), which showed that he received a “very good” net satisfaction rating.

According to the fourth quarter of 2021 survey of SWS, 65 percent of the respondents were satisfied with Sotto’s performance as Senate President while 14 percent were dissatisfied, for a net score of +52.
