City of Ilagan hits herd immunity vs COVID-19

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela—This capital city of Isabela province had attained herd immunity against COVID-19 after inoculating 82,199 residents or 76 percent of its population, officials said Wednesday.

At least 108,953 more residents had received the first dose of the vaccine, said Mayor Josemarie Diaz. The city has about 180,000 population.

The mayor said they would be monitoring strictly the vaccination rollout to ensure that booster shots are administered efficiently.

Diaz said people were expected to go out to buy gifts and goods for the holidays as restrictions were relaxed in the city.

“The families are advised to take care of their members and be responsible for their health,” he added.
