MANILA, Philippines — Resigned Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF) director Lucille Karen Malilong-Isberto remained firm on leaving her post amid the mega-vaccination site controversy at the park, saying she does not want “being rushed into doing things that are iffy.”

Isberto said that she has no plans of reconsidering her decision of stepping down as she awaits the acceptance of an appointing attorney over her move.

“No, thank you,” was her short response to ANC’s “Headstart” when asked about reconsidering her decision to resign.

“I don’t like being rushed into doing things that are iffy,” she said, adding that the organization’s stance on the mega-vaccination facility was only because they were instructed by the President in the past to follow the law.

“So we’re just doing that, we want to make sure that all the laws are followed, especially in light of the Nayon and all the scandals it was involved into. We want strict compliance to all those.”

The NPF earlier urged authorities to follow the legal procedure on the construction of a mega-jab site, clarifying that they are not really opposing the plan.

Isberto said the proposal for the construction should be requested by a government agency and not by a private entity like the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. Foundation.
