‘Binaboy ang anak ko’: Ma pleads for Duterte’s help to get justice for flight attendant’s death
MANILA, Philippines — The mother of flight attendant Christine Angelica Dacera has appealed for President Rodrigo Duterte’s help in their quest to obtain justice for her daughter.
Christine, 23, was allegedly killed inside a hotel in Makati City on New Year’s Day.
“Tatay Digong, tulungan niyo po kami. Ordinaryo lang po akong tao. Ma’am [Davao Mayor] Sara Duterte, nanay ka rin. May anak ka rin na babae. That is why I want to come out in the open because I don’t want somebody to be a victim again by this kind of brutality, barbaric,” an emotional Sharon Dacera told reporters in a press conference on Tuesday.
(Tatay Digong please help us. I am just an ordinary person. Ma’am Sara Duterte, you are also a mom. You have a daughter too. That is why I want to come out in the open because I don’t want that somebody will be a victim by this kind of brutality, barbaric.)
“Binaboy niyo ang anak ko. Ayokong may mangyari ulit diyan na isang babae na bababuyin niyo ulit. Kaya lalabanan ko ang laban nitong anak ko,” she added.
(You treated her like a pig. I don’t want this to happen to another woman who will be treated like that. That is why I will fight for my daughter’s case.)

(Of course, I will fight for my daughter. Tatay Digong, the perpetrators should be punished. Christine does not deserve this brutality. Tatay Digong, help us. They need to be punished.)
Christine, an employee of Philippine Airlines Express, was found unconscious in an empty bathtub at a hotel in Makati City on January 1. Initial report from Scene of the Crime Operatives showed that the victim was sexually abused.
Police said they filed a provisional charge of rape with homicide against 11 suspects, including her three friends, who were with Christine during the New Year’s Eve party at the hotel. Only Christine’s three friends were under the custody of police.
