‘Shoplifter’ of diapers, powdered milk nabbed in Taguig City market
MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested for allegedly trying to shoplift diapers, powdered milk, and other items at a grocery store in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on Saturday.
According to a report from Taguig City Police Station, the suspect “pretended as a customer and with intent to gain of the above-cited items subsequently exited thereat” at about 12:49 p.m.
Police said a security guard noticed the suspect allegedly trying to leave without paying for the pack of diapers, air freshener, powdered milk, instant coffee, and hotdogs worth P2,018 in total.
The security guard then asked the suspect for the receipt for the said items but the latter failed to present any.
Police said security guards at the establishment then brought the suspect to the Bonifacio Global City Police Community Precinct on a complaint of theft. The items allegedly taken by the suspect were later recovered from him police said.
