A young woman from Georgia, USA, was just on a night walk with her dog when she lost her life after being struck in the head by a tire that flew off a moving pickup truck.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Kimberly Touchton, was found lying face down about 10 to 15 feet from the road Sunday, Dec. 15, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office reported, as per NBC-affiliate WMGT-TV on Dec. 16.

Authorities found Touchton after receiving an “unresponsive person” call, Lt. Kent Bankston said, according to the news outlet. Investigators said Touchton was located by her fiance, who looked for her after her dog returned home without her.

Touchton was rushed by medical staff to the emergency room of Houston Medical Center, but unfortunately did not survive the accident.

Authorities found an abandoned pickup truck with a missing front right tire just down the road where Touchton was found. Investigators determined that the tire came off while the car was being driven, as per report.

The pickup truck’s driver was identified as Brian Seth Carmichael, who was charged the next day with misdemeanor for failure to report an accident causing injury or death.

Carmichael, who turned himself in on Monday, is now free after posting a $2,600 bond.  Ian Biong /ra
