LUCENA CITY — Exiled Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison said President Duterte has suffered a defeat on Monday with the court’s decision not to arrest Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV.

“A big legal defeat for Duterte,” Sison said of the decision of the Makati court rejecting the petition of the government to arrest Trillanes over previously dismissed coup d’etat charges in a statement from his base in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

“He (Duterte) is thoroughly exposed among the AFP officers who are not his ass-lickers that he made an illegal order to the military to arrest Trillanes and subject him to court martial,” he said.

He added: “Within the AFP, Duterte has exposed himself as a criminal dirty player.”

Sison predicts that after the court decision, more military officers would be ready to defy Duterte and withdraw support from him. /ee
