Arroyo: Give Duterte chance to solve country’s problems
House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Friday urged the public to give President Rodrigo Duterte time to solve the country’s woes.
Arroyo said this would also be the message of her father, the late president Diosdado Macapagal, if he’s still alive.
“He would be telling the Filipino today let’s help our country. The President has been president two years, let’s support him and give him a chance,” she said in an interview during the 108th birth anniversary of her father at the Diosdado Macapagal Museum-Library in Lubao, Pampanga.
“Ang ating pangulo ay dalawang taon pa lang nakaupo, suportahan natin sya. Bigyan natin sya ng pagkakataon na masolusyunan yung mga sinisikap nyang masolusyonan,” she added.
After the event, Arroyo said she would be heading to Nueva Ecija to attend the briefing of the Department of Public Works and Highways on the new flood control project at the Pampanga River Basin.
The House leader’s statement came after the President got a decrease in approval and trust ratings according to a Pulse Asia survey, as well as being hounded by issues of high inflation rate and rice crisis in some parts of the country.
