Clashes erupt as Zamboanga City airport reopens, some areas back to normal

As videoke bars started to come alive and stores opened outside of conflict areas of the city, life seemed to be returning to normal for residents here on Thursday.

P1.3B needed for ‘Pablo’ areas–ICRC

The Geneva-based International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Friday said it needed more than P1.3 billion in additional donations to support its efforts in Pablo-devastated areas because “humanitarian needs [there are] still staggeringly high more than two months” after the typhoon made landfall.

Miranda rights cards for cops

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it was poised to distribute to its members 15,000 pocket cards containing the Miranda warning in Filipino, Visayan and Cebuano, including its new antitorture provisions, which officers are required by law to recite when making arrests.
