PH eagles’ keepers called heroes of vanishing breed

GOING A-COURTING Mindanao, a 13-year-old male Philippine eagle, and his keeper, Mario Entrolizo, go through a courtship ritual at the Philippine Eagle Center in Davao City. The ritual is unique to the monogamous species. Hatched in 2011, Mindanao considers his keeper his mate who is the only person who can deliver sperm samples for the center’s artificial insemination program. Its wing span of 7 ft is broadest in the world. LYN RILLON
