MOSCOW, Russia? At least six people were killed when a Russian interior ministry transport plane crashed Sunday in the far-eastern Yakutia region, Ria-Novosti said.

The Ilyushin, carrying 11 people, crashed at 8:40 a.m. (2340 GMT Saturday) shortly after take-off from Mirny, a local official from the emergency situations ministry told the news agency.

"Six bodies have been found at the site of the accident and a search is continuing for the others," he said, adding that the plane was not carrying any cargo.

The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.
