60 families displaced, P150K lost in Parañaque fire
MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out at a densely populated residential area in Parañaque City on Monday evening, destroying around 30 houses and displacing around 60 families or 90 individuals, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The blaze started at 7:07 p.m. in a two-story house on M. Rodriguez Avenue in Barangay La Huerta and quickly escalated to the third alarm.

A total of 82 firetrucks, 20 from the BFP and 62 from volunteer groups and the local government, rushed to the scene, along with eight ambulances.
Fire fighters managed to put the blaze under control at 10:43 p.m. but it took another 45 minutes for them to finally put it out.
Article continues after this advertisementNo deaths or injuries were reported with the damage to property estimated at around P150,000.
Fire authorities said the cause of the blaze remains under investigation. —RUSSEL LORETO
