“Nonetheless, in response to the recent clamor for a more immediate reversion to the April-May school break, the Department has already submitted a letter to the Office of the President presenting other options including a more aggressive alternatives of ending school year 2024 to 2025 in March,” Bringas said in a Senate panel briefing.

In the DepEd’s order released in February, the proposed period of the school year 2024 to 2025 will run from July 29 to March 24.

This shift was done in a bid to revert the school calendar to the previous June to March setting.

Bringas added that there will be no longer make-up classes for the remaining weeks of the school year 2023 to 2024 as days when alternative delivery modes (ADM) were implemented are to be counted as the same as regular school days.
