MANILA, Philippines?A Philippine Daily Inquirer story on Thursday stating that former representative Romeo Jalosjos had asked President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to grant him absolute pardon was erroneously attributed to Ismael Heradura, administrator of the Parole and Probation Administration, an office under the Department of Justice.
The source of the Inquirer story was not Heradura but an officer of the Board of Pardons and Parole (BPP), who said that the application of Jalosjos was under study.
Heradura?s office, the Parole and Probation Administration, is not part of the BPP and he, therefore, cannot speak for the BPP.
The Inquirer deeply regrets the error.
