MANILA, Philippines--Former president Corazon Aquino has been having problems with her appetite, as she continues to battle colon cancer, her son said Thursday.

?Her appetite is not good and that's a cause for concern for us,? Senator Benigno Aquino III said.

Despite her condition, Aquino continues to monitor the political situation, the senator said.

During a protest in Makati City last Wednesday, Aquino, in a statement read by her grandson, deplored the ?shameless abuse of power? of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo?s allies at the House of Representatives, who passed a resolution calling for a constituent assembly to amend the 1987 Constitution.

?She is very concerned. She would probably call allies to educate the public regarding Constitutional assembly,? he said.
