/ 10:39 AM August 26, 2013

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Some 3,000 people joined the anti-pork barrel march from the Normal Road to the Plaza Pershing here Monday morning.

More people have been arriving at the Plaza Pershing for the protest action dubbed as “El Pueblo Unido Contra Robo – Marcha de Zamboanga Contra Corrupcion (The City is United Against Robbers – Zamboangueños March Against Corruption).

The march here was organized in solidarity with the Million Man March at the Rizal Park in Manila, which was mobilized by concerned citizens through the social media, after the Philippine Daily Inquirer came out with a series of exposés showing how businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles diverted P10 billion in pork barrel funds to fake nongovernment organizations.
