2 brothers killed by cops alerted to Pasig robbery
Two brothers who allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint in Pasig City were killed in what the police said was a shootout on Tuesday night.
Senior Supt. Orlando Yebra, city police chief, identified the slain suspects as Enrique Gaspar, 23, and his 18-year-old brother Daniel, residents of Taguig City.
Police reports said that around 11:45 p.m., Roel de Jesus was walking on Mabini Street in Barangay Kapasigan when four men on two motorbikes took his bag containing his cell phone and P2,000 in cash.
A passing motorist, who turned out to be a police officers, alerted the Pasig City police station about the incident.
The four robbery suspects were later spotted by officers manning a checkpoint on F. Legaspi Street in Barangay Maybunga.
When they were flagged down, the suspects reportedly fired at the police, resulting in a shootout on Jenny’s Avenue that left the brothers dead.

Police said they recovered a loaded 9-mm and a .38-caliber handgun from the suspects, as well as two sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) and the items stolen from De Jesus. —Jhesset O. Enano
