Welder found dead with cord around neck in Baguio home
BAGUIO CITY— A welder was found dead inside his rented room with an electrical cord wrapped around his neck on Thursday afternoon at the Dominican Hill Extension, police said.
Nick Anthony de Leon, 14, saw his 40-year-old father Mauro de Leon lying on the floor when he peeked through a window.
Nick had to telephone his mother, Delia Delmo, who holds a key to the room, the Cordillera police said.
The cord around De Leon’s neck was tied to a bed post. Forensic investigators said the victim may have died between 36 to 48 hours before his remains were found.
Delmo informed the police that she had not returned to their room for a week, after she and De Leon had a heated argument on May 4.
The body was brought to the La Paz Funeral Homes. JE/rga
