P400K worth of counterfeit goods seized in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY—At least P400,000 worth of fake soap, lotion and shampoo was seized from two stores in downtown Bacolod City on Thursday.

Five search warrants for violation of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines were implemented against Ysabelle Celine Fashion Shop and Walk Fashion Accessories and five more search warrants at the YYK Fashion Accessories, said Senior Police Officer 2 Joshua Barile of the Regional Intelligence Unit-Negros Island Region (RIU-18).

Barile said they recovered 220 bottles and 7,085 sachets of shampoo, lotion, soap and cream products of Procter & Gamble Co.—all fake from Ysabelle Celine Fashion Shop and Walk Fashion Accessories.

Confiscated from the YYK Fashion Accessories, meanwhile, were 644 bottles of counterfeit shampoo and lotion, police records also showed.

Barile said they had not apprehended anyone but charges of trademark infringement may be filed against the owners, whose names were not disclosed.

The operation was conducted by the RIU-18, Provincial Public Safety Company, Regional Special Operations Group-18 and Police Station 1.
