Purefoods-Cebu routs Monterey-CdeO

THE PUREFOODS TJ Hotdog-Cebu got their stint in the Seaoil Elite League National Finals off to a fantastic start as they demolished the Monterey Meat Shop-Cagayan de Oro, 106-77, at the start of the tournament yesterday at the West Negros Gym in Bacolod City.

The team is composed of the stalwarts of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles. It aims to do a repeat of the stint it accomplished last year by the team manned by the core of the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers.

In other games, the teams from Bacolod City utilized their homecourt advantage to the hilt as they blasted their respective opponents.

St. John’s Institute routed Bulacan, 82-54, while the West Negros University likewise destroyed the team from La Union, 90-78.

Iloilo also got the best of General Santos, 82-74, while Davao registered the most lopsided win of the tournament so far, crushing Ormoc, 112-57.
