Pimentel: No De Lima ‘sex video’

There is no alleged sex video of Senator Leila de Lima so there is nothing to show in the House of Representatives, Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III said on Tuesday.

“Actually, I believe that there is no video. There is no actual video,” Pimentel said on the floor as he stood against the House’s reported plan to show such video in its inquiry into on the alleged proliferation of illegal drugs at the New Bilibid Prison when de Lima was still the Justice Secretary.

“Some have shown me a video but it does not involve any member of the Senate. It’s a video, it’s a sex video but it does not involve any member of the Senate so there’s no video,” he said.

The Senate leader said Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez also categorically stated to him that no such video would be shown in the next hearing of the House.

And as president of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), Pimentel said he directed his partymates in the House to oppose the showing of such video if the issue is put to a vote.

“I made a party directive to the partymates in the House, should it be put to a vote, they should vote against the showing of the video,” he said.

“I think there will be no showing of any video on Thursday,” Pimentel added.

The Senate unanimously approved this Tuesday a resolution, expressing the sense of the chamber “to condemn and oppose in the strongest possible terms” the showing of the alleged video. RAM/rga
