MANILA — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized some P13.6 million worth of shabu and arrested a male suspect in a sting operation in Cebu province.

In a Saturday press release, the PDEA said suspect alias “James,” a 46-year-old native of Bohol, was apprehended during a buy-bust in Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Authorities confiscated 20 packs of shabu weighing about 2 kg with an estimated street value of P13.6 million.

Other items recovered were buy-bust money, P500 in cash, a KG9 9mm rifle with magazine containing five live rounds, and a black bag.

The suspect was taken to the local PDEA office for documentation and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The seized illegal drugs were sent to the PDEA laboratory for further analysis.
