Binay condemns killing of fraternity brother in Batangas
BALAYAN, Batangas—Vice President Jejomar Binay on Friday condemned the killing of his fraternity brother former Sto. Tomas Councilor Damasino “Caloy” Mabilangan Jr. who was gunned down this morning.
Binay was in Batangas on the day Mabilangan was shot dead by still unidentified men while jogging in Sto. Tomas.

In his speech before residents of Barangay Wawa in Nasugbu, Binay said he prayed with his fraternity brothers upon learning of their “brod’s” death.
Binay is a member of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity.
Binay, in a speech later at Barangay Nine in Balayan, said the killing of his fraternity brother showed the persistent problem of lack of peace and order.
Article continues after this advertisement“Yung brod namin sa Sto. Tomas, pinatay kaninang umaga. Ganyan ngayon, dahil sa kahirapan, kabi-kabila ang krimen,” Binay said at the Barangay Nine covered court.

“Kaya alam niyo, hindi mangyayari yun kung walang kahirapan ngayon. Tatapusin natin ’yan,” he said. RC
